FALN Bombsites (1970s)

Dublin Core

Title

FALN Bombsites (1970s)

Subject

ArcMap document outlining the location of FALN bombing incidents in relation to predominantly Spanish-speaking neighborhoods in NYC.

Description

Tracing FALN bomb incidents throughout the 1970s, this map compares these locations to two other data: clusters of Spanish-speaking colonias and the proximity of emergency response services (namely the police, the fire department, and hospitals). In short, most bomb sites took place in central Manhattan, relatively far away from the boundaries of most Spanish-speaking neigbhorhoods. FALN bombers did not seem to consider (or perhaps care) for the proximity of emergency response sites.
